atmos x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 "Yakoutake"

An exclusive atmos edition based on the iconic ASICS SportStyle model GEL-KAYANO 14 will be released. Originally debuting in 2008 as the 14th model in the high-performance GEL-KAYANO series of running shoes, it features a streamlined design inspired by flashes of light and a retro running aesthetic that aligns perfectly with the Y2K fashion trend.

This conceptual atmos take on the ASICS SportStyle model that leads current trends, the GEL-KAYANO 14, is themed around “Yakoutake”—a glow-in-the-dark mushroom that actually grows in Japan and is known as one of the brightest bioluminescent fungi. This theme is incorporated into the design with glow-in-the-dark elements, including phosphorescent details on the ASICS stripes, midsole, outsole, and other parts. The heel section, inspired by flashes of light, is finished in a brown color reminiscent of the soil where the “Yakoutake” grows. Additionally, the insole features a graphic of “Yakoutake” glowing in the dark, showcasing meticulous attention to detail.

This exclusive model, crafted through the unique lens of atmos, represents the fantastical and energetic qualities of the “Yakoutake,” making for a one-of-a-kind GEL-KAYANO 14.
