"Natsukashisa" is a word that expresses feelings such as "warmth" and "tenderness" felt when reminiscing about the past, and the origin of this word is reflected in the design.

Based on the GEL-KAYANO 12.1, which is based on a retro upper design model from 20 years ago, not only the coloring but also the materials used reflect the texture used in the archive model, such as the glossy panel applied over mesh.

This GEL-KAYANO 12.1 features a revamped biomorphic zone in the forefoot. The design has been changed to one in which flat graphics are integrated with mesh. The bottom of the outsole is placed in a vibrant green, which is a symbolic color of the UP THERE brand, and signal red rubber parts are also used to accent the color.

Like other GEL-KAYANO 12.1 models, the midsole uses the same sole as the GEL-NIMBUS 17. The dual GEL technology and FLUIDRIDE midsole structure, developed for marathon comfort, ensure all-day comfort.
